loficat
A purple cat, a lot of naps and 500+ lofi songs. Here’s everything about the cat, and how to use the music.
Purrple Cat is the mascot and the name of a solo lofi project that began on December 7, 2018 with the album Up All Night, where the cat lounges on top of a cat tree. Since then the cat has turned up on every Self Release cover: curled around a house, floating on a sea of stars, asleep on the night train.
The music is mostly instrumental lofi. The Memories EP and the single Please Hold Me have vocals. Every song, every cover and every animation is made by Purrple Cat; the animations are made in After Effects.
There’s no face reveal and there are no public appearances: the cat is the face. The Purrple Cat plush has sold out twice, and more merch is on the way. The community lives on discord.purrplecat.com.
